Do you love interactive cards? I created these spooky mixed media Halloween cards that light up using Pear Blossom Press lights that are now available at KatScrappiness.com . These cards feature the Stick it to Me!, Holiday Lantern, and Halloween Lantern Add-on Stamp Sets that I colored using OLO Markers.

I created the background using LOTS of layers on watercolor paper. I cut my paper slightly larger than what I want for the finished background so that I can trim off edges that I don’t want.

Once your background is complete and you decide where you want the light, cut a small hole in your background to let the light through. I used a small heart and leaf from one of my other die sets. Then, I lined up the device light with the hole and the switch with the location where I wanted the button. I used a spider to mark the button on one card and the eye on the other card. For the Stick it to Me! heart, I covered the back of the opening with vellum that I colored with a red alcohol ink marker. For the lantern card with the candle light device, the hole needs to remain open so that you can “blow it out” just like a real candle. Next, I added a double layer of adhesive foam all around the back of the card for support and attached it to my cardbase.
