Spellbinders’ August Club Products – Beneath the Blue

Hello, fellow cardmakers.  Thank you for visiting my blog today. In this post, I am sharing four cards that I created using Spellbinders’ August Club Products.

The first card above features the Stencil of the Month – Underwater Bloom and Large Die of the Month – Splash Tales Sets. After stenciling my cardstock panel, I cut it out using the Whale in a Bottle Large Die Set. I added the sweet goldfish from the Large Die Set and sentiments from the Birthday Wishes Sentiments Set.

For my second card, I used the Large Die of the Month – Splash Tales and the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month – Underwater Waltz. For the background, I swiped the cardstock with my Hero Arts Ombré Mermaid Ink by directly swiping the color horizontally onto the paper with the ink pad to get the colored stripes. Then, I dry embossed the paper with the Spellbinders August Club 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I gently applied a little bit of Hero Arts Gold Hero Wax with my finger on the raised elements.

For my main design, I die cut my pieces using the adorable new Spellbinders August Large Die of the Month Club Set. All of the cardstock came from Your Paper Insider Boxes 11 & 12. For the mermaid tail, I used their new Gold Diamond Glitter paper, because doesn’t every mermaid deserve some sparkle ✨️?!?

For my third card, the sailboat in the bottle and sentiment are from the current August Clear Stamp and Die Club – Paper Splash. For the stenciled background, I used the June Stencil of the Month – Rolling Tide. I ink blended three different blues to get the effect that I wanted. I also decided to trim my background down a half inch on each side and add a small strip of black cardstock to add a little interest. The water and bottle were colored with alcohol ink markers.

For my final card, I again used the Large Die of the Month – Splash Tales and Embossing Folder of the Month – Coral Impression. After embossing the background, I added some additional ink blending to help emphasize the embossed coral pattern.
