This Calls for Confetti – Alice’s Story

This Calls for Confetti (TCFC) recently released a product line called Alice’s Story – Honeysuckle. The products in this line were created to honor the legacy of Lisa’s mother, Alice. During Alice’s last days, she and the family received support from SECU Hospice in Smithfield, NC. Each purchase from Alice’s Story will also help raise money to support SECU Hospice in Smithfield, NC. For more information, click here.

I feel honored to be a part of sharing Alice’s Story and the wonderful products that were created in her memory. The products I received were very high quality, and I had so many possibilities that I had to make more than one card. The stamps and dies worked perfectly, and the embellishments are even more beautiful in person.

For my first card, I decided to make a shaker card. I stamped the Honeysuckle flowers using Alice’s Story – Honeysuckle Stamp Set and die cut the flowers and shaker vase opening using Alice’s Story – Honeysuckle Outline Die Set.  I easily and quickly colored the flowers using Copics (Y: 11, 21, 23 & YG: 00, 01, 03). For the background, I used a piece of patterned paper from the Painted Patterns 6×6 Paper Pad, which contains a variety of patterns in four beautiful colors (pink, yellow, green, and blue). After gluing a piece of acetate to the back of the vase opening, I added adhesive foam behind the background paper and around the vase opening to contain the matching Alice’s Story – Honeysuckle Mix. I completed the card by adding a black cardstock die-cut frame and sentiments from the Honeysuckle Stamp Set.

For my second card, I decided to create an embossed background of gold honeysuckle flowers using the Alice’s Story – Honeysuckle Stamp Set, which I inkblended over the top using three blue shades of ink and some water splatter.

Next, I double stamped the vase using both black and gold pigment inks. I really loved the visual texture I was able to create on the stamped vase.

Then, I used a frame die to cut the background and three additional white layers in order to provide some dimension to the assembled background. Next, I stamped and die-cut the Honeysuckle flowers, greenery, and sentiments on white and die cut two additional floral pieces from vellum.  I also added a piece of gold embroidery thread to tie up around the flowers into the mix.

Then came the final, fun step… assembly. I love the way this card came together. I finished the card off by adding some of TCFC’s Gold Beads – Flatback style to really tie together my whole blue and gold color scheme.

Disclosure: Some of the supplies used to create the card(s) were provided by the company. Basic materials, tools, additional supplies, etc. are purchased by me.
